Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) Team

The Trauma-Informed Care team’s mission involves exploring the intricacies and mechanisms in which healthcare providers practice trauma-informed care for their patients. The team finished a set of literature reviews investigating the source and the implementation of trauma-informed care principles in healthcare settings. We are paying particular attention to how healthcare providers can partner with survivors to implement better forms of care. Now, the team is developing a new project, which is a prospective cohort study observing the prevalence of birth-related PTSD through PTSD screenings administered before and after delivery. In addition, we will examine how PTSD affects pregnancy and birth-related outcomes.
